The best way to find tourists is to be visible at several moments in their planning journey. Marketplaces capture booking intent, Google answers local questions, partners introduce you, and a direct audience brings referrals.
Start with a clear customer
“All tourists” is not a useful audience. Choose the traveller, location and need you serve best: families wanting a calm Sigiriya day, food travellers in Colombo, first-time visitors to Cairo, or photographers chasing sunrise.
Use a balanced channel mix
- Marketplaces for travellers comparing bookable experiences
- Google Business Profile for eligible local searches
- A fast website for direct explanations and enquiries
- Search content answering genuine destination questions
- Hotels and travel partners for trusted referrals
- Past guests for honest reviews and recommendations
Do not build on a single algorithm. Platforms can change ranking, fees or policies. Your website, email list and partnerships create an audience you can reach directly.
Measure bookings, not attention
Track each enquiry source, booking value, channel cost, cancellation rate and hours spent. Fewer high-quality bookings may be more valuable than many views.
For the next 30 days, publish one excellent core experience, complete your local profiles, contact ten relevant accommodation partners and answer four traveller questions. Then improve what produced real enquiries.
