A local tour guide leading travelers through a historic destination

Start with one experience you can deliver safely and consistently—not a large catalogue. A focused product is easier to test, price, explain and improve.

Validate the idea

Talk to travellers, hotels and guides before buying equipment or building a large website. Identify who the tour is for, what it solves and why a guest would choose it over going alone. Run a small pilot, time every stage and ask what felt confusing or valuable.

Make the operation legitimate

Requirements vary by country and activity. Check business registration, tourism licences, guide qualifications, tax, insurance, transport permissions, site rules and safety obligations with the relevant authorities. High-risk activities need documented emergency procedures.

Price the complete experience

Include guide time, transport, entry fees, refreshments, equipment, marketplace and payment fees, tax, cancellations and profit. Calculate your minimum viable group size.

Create the booking basics

  • A specific name and plain-language description
  • A realistic itinerary and duration
  • Exact inclusions, exclusions and meeting instructions
  • Strong, truthful photographs
  • Availability you can keep accurate
  • Written cancellation and guest communication procedures

Choose one marketplace, one direct channel and a small group of referral partners. Improve the operation before expanding to more tours or destinations.
